The formerPambula Beach resident made the promise that if he got a full house at the UC Refectory on Saturday night he would perform a song in the nude.

Although he didn’t get the 300 people he had hoped for, the 26-year-old said the crowd of 180 people was all up and dancing and was so enthusiastic that he decided to strip off anyway.

“I didn’t go completely starkers, I thought that because we had around half the amount of people I would go halfway to getting full naked,” Biilmann joked.

Now the singer-songwriter is bringing his new album to his home-town for what he hopes is another cracker performance at Club Sapphire on Friday night, March 3.

Since growing up on the Sapphire Coast and attending Lumen Christi Catholic College theacoustic blues and roots artist has come a long way.

He has played a private gig for champion surfer and shark puncher Mick Fanning. He hastoured internationally and he has shared the stage with bands such as The Superjesus andFrenzalRhomb.

But despite all this Biilmann said he still loves returning home and performing to the people who have supported him since he first picked up a guitar.

This Friday he will be playing the surf and life inspired songs as featured on his second solo record Streams.

Loaded with much hype and anticipation, Biilmann’s album Streams ties the entire roots genre into one very unique sound. Driven by brutally honest lyrics, vocal dynamics drenched in emotion and Biilmann’s signature searing guitar playing, Streams is the product of a lot of hard work and reflection.

“I only write music about stuff I really care about,” Biillmann said.

“The last 18 months I have done a lot of reminiscing and also started to really think about moving forward.”

The last year has seen Biilmann play over a hundred live shows while sharing the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists including Ian Moss, Sarah Mcleod (The Superjesus), Mat Mchugh (The Beautiful Girls), Jay Whalley ( Frenzal Rhomb), Bootleg Rascal, and Kim Churchill, as well as performing as part of the ACT’s showcase at BIGSOUND.

Biilmann is performing at Club Sapphire on Friday, March 3, supported by another local lad Lochie Marson.Doors open at 8pm for this free18+ event.

“I wanted to make it a free show at home because I want to have the biggest crowd possible. It would be great to get 150 people there.”
